Anyone who values a “natural look" in floor coverings can choose from a very wide range of natural floors at tilo and all of them meet stringent building-biological requirements:

The material Wood is unchallenged in first place. It is gaining ever more ground in many areas as a result of its natural building-biological properties. Parquet, above all solid parquet, but also multiple-layered floors with a special composite structure and that have been specially treated, can make the heart of a flooring manufacturer with a thorough building-biological alignment beat faster with excitement.

But other natural materials derived from vegetable origins present themselves in fresh designs too. The material Cork (from the regenerating bark of the cork oak) and the material Linoleum, offer a hitherto unsuspected potential for the creative design of living space.

There is no part of a building with which people have so much direct contact as with the floor. The environmental compatibility of the materials used in a building are of decisive importance, especially in the case of the floor because our sensibility is significantly affected by the floor that has direct contact with our feet. The harder and the more remote a floor surface material is from us and our living, organic existence as human beings, the more likely it is that posture damage, cold related illness or kidney troubles will result.

Terms such as foot warmth, step elasticity, ease of care, hygiene (allergies!) and a pleasing appearance describe qualities to which a floor covering must make its contribution.

Environmentally compatible installation techniques and an ecological surface treatment are the assurance of a through-and-through ecological approach. That is why tilo developed NATwood, a new improvement treatment that has been put to successful use in flooring for some years. The resistance of the wood has been greatly increased while its expansion and shrinking qualities have been significantly reduced by charging the wood with biologically degradable materials. This means tilo "NATwood" laminate prefabricated parquets elements can be installed faster and with fewer problems. It is no surprise then, that in construction biology (bio=life) in particular, health and flooring are closely intertwined.
